Talkin' 'Bout My(Space) G...g...generation
So, I was sitting around with my older kids, Saul and Angelica this Thanksgiving weekend. When the conversation turned to music, I fired up my Ipod and turned them on to Dan Bern, a tragically under-known genius of a songwriter and performer. They--being of the generation they are--went right over to MySpace and looked him up. I was ecstatic to see (and hear) that one of my favorite Bern songs, God Said No, is featured on Dan's profile.
What happened next was a bona fide, cross-generational experience. See, I'm a musician, too. I couldn't feed anyone doing it, but I never stopped playing guitar and writing songs. A couple of years ago, just for grins, I made a song demo of three original tunes. Nothing fancy. Just me and my guitar and some lyrics.
So yesterday, while listening to Dan Bern, it occurred to all of us that I should have a MySpace music profile, too. And 10 minutes later, with minimal prodding from my offspring, there it was.
Huh! Waddaya know. Old man Farber's music is now on MySpace. Have a listen, if you dare.

Dude, you are quite the crooner. Very nice. Now I can listen to you sing while I surf through the blogosphere.

Dude... you ARE the true Renaissance Man... my favorite was "Blaze of Glory" - think I could have listened to that 50 more times. Highly impressed, Steve... thanks for sharing!
