Travelers Take Note (and a Snack)

To quote myself from an earlier post, I said:

"Someone ought to write a book called The Airplane Food Diet. I'd buy it. Come to think of it, though, it'd be a very short piece. All it would take is one sentence: Bring your own food. So much for that idea..."

Well...waddaya know? My friend and biz associate, Holly Vosnos of Speak, Inc, sent me a book called The Traveler's Diet: Eating Right and Staying Fit on the Road by NBC's Peter Greenberg. I highly recommend it for all my fellow road warriors who deal with the constant struggle of trying to stay healthy at the airport, on the plane and in the hotel.

As to my aforementioned wiseass remark about airplane food, it seems I was pretty much on the mark. Greenberg says:

"...you should bring your own snacks. Or at least pick up some nuts in the airport before you board. A recent survey asked flight attendants if they eat the food they serve on their flights. More than a third responded, 'Only if desperate.' You don't have to be desperate. You just have to be smart."

And there's the rub for me. When it comes to eating on planes, I'm basically an idiot.
