All Resumes Should Look Like This
In these days of internet profiles and the like, it's not unusual to find bullet-pointed lists about people's hobbies and interests, cats, parrots, salamanders and children all posted for the world to see. This is how we get the quick 411 about each other in the on-line world.
It's alright, I guess. It probably tells us more about a person than the average resume, but I think we should up the ante. The Bloke's got this down. After reading his profile, I almost feel like I know the guy. (Odd, though...I can't find his name anywhere on his site.) All resumes should look like that, too. It sure would make the task of interviewing a hell of a lot more fun.
Speaking of resumes, I received this email from Tom in Texas and offered him some visibility for his challenge:
"I just finished Radical Leap and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed it. My OS!M came almost 3 months ago when my board and I decided that after a little over 2 years the fit just wasn’t there. I’ve been in the Convention and Visitor Bureau business for a little over 20 years and moved to Corpus Christi in January of 2004. The board wanted me in the driver’s seat but they wanted to sit in the backseat telling me how to drive. I’m currently in the search for a marketing/communications position outside the CVB world and almost every day now I have an OS!M. Boy, looking for a job is the hardest job I’ve every had!!!!! Thankfully, I read your book and it put a lot of things in perspective that I had never thought of before.
Thanks for your insights."
If anyone has any ideas/leads/encouragement to offer Tom from Texas, just email me and I'll hook you up.

Comments: All Resumes Should Look Like This
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the link. I'm not sure what you saw in my "50 Things" profile on my site, but I am flattered. I thought some of it was a little self-aggrandizing and was actually ambivalent of keeping it up there on my blogsite. One reason my name is not on my blog is because of some of the soul-baring stuff I publish from time to time. You see, at one point, my blog was one of the vehicles I used to vent as part of the self-therapy I use for my depression and bipolar tendencies.
Anyway, thanks again for the link! You have a cool site, and I will check out your work a little more!
Best regards,
The Bloke
