A Blunt Reminder for the Rest of Us

Tom Ehrenfeld's excellent manifesto at changethis.com is, on the surface, a deft skewering of Raytheon CEO Bill Swanson's apparent plaigarism in his book, Swanson's Unwritten Rules of Management.

On a deeper level, though, it's a blunt reminder for the rest of us that, as leaders, everything we do, everywhere we stamp our name or seal of approval, and everything that's done on our behalf--with or without our blessings--reflects directly on our own credibility. In Ehrenfeld's words: "When you are wrong, take full responsibility...you should be as willing to accept the blame as you were the fame."

In other words, you are being watched--so be sure you (and yours) are doing something worth watching.
